The Federation of African Medical Physics Organizations is proud to celebrate the International Day of Medical Physics 2026 with a vibrant continental campaign titled “Dressed in Culture, United by Medical Physics.”
This year’s celebration brings together medical physicists across Africa to honour both professional excellence and cultural identity. Under the theme “Advancing Global Health Equity: The Ethical Foundation of Medical Physics,” FAMPO highlights the vital role medical physicists play in strengthening healthcare systems, promoting patient safety, supporting ethical practice, and advancing equitable access to quality medical services.

As part of the celebration, FAMPO invites medical physicists, departments, institutions, and national member organizations across Africa to wear their cultural attire to work on any chosen day during the celebration week. Participants are encouraged to take photos or short videos, either individually or with their teams, and share them with FAMPO using the campaign hashtags.
The “Dressed in Culture” campaign is more than a celebration of attire. It is a powerful expression of unity, diversity, and professional pride. It reflects the richness of African cultures while reinforcing the shared mission of medical physicists to improve healthcare outcomes for all communities.
FAMPO encourages all members to participate actively, tag FAMPO on social media, and help showcase the strength, diversity, and impact of medical physics across the continent.
